HR is lonely. It doesn’t have to be.
The best HR advice comes from people who’ve been in the trenches.
That’s what this newsletter delivers.
I Hate it Here is your insider’s guide to surviving and thriving in HR, from someone who’s been there. It’s not about theory or buzzwords — it’s about practical, real-world advice for navigating everything from tricky managers to messy policies.
Every newsletter is written by Hebba Youssef — a Chief People Officer who’s seen it all and is here to share what actually works (and what doesn’t). We’re talking real talk, real strategies, and real support — all with a side of humor to keep you sane.
Because HR shouldn’t feel like a thankless job. And you shouldn’t feel alone in it.
The Job Market Revolution: Where Human Creativity Meets Silicon Chaos
The future of work is being rewritten in real-time, and the script looks nothing like what we expected. According to the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025, we're witnessing the most dramatic workplace transformation in history, with Big Data Specialists projected to grow by 110% through 2030, followed closely by FinTech Engineers at 95% and AI and Machine Learning Specialists at 85%. But here's the plot twist that nobody saw coming: while 92 million jobs will disappear by 2030, 170 million entirely new positions will emerge, creating a net gain of 78 million jobs that focus on uniquely human skills like creativity, empathy, and complex problem-solving. Of course this one data point, many others forecast there will be net loss of jobs.
The most fascinating part? 85% of the jobs that will exist in 2030 haven't even been invented yet, according to Dell Technologies and the Institute for the Future. This isn't just about tech workers either – while AI threatens traditional roles like payroll clerks and data entry specialists, it's simultaneously creating hybrid positions that blend human intuition with machine capabilities. We're entering an era where 39% of workers' core skills will be transformed by 2030, but rather than replacing humans entirely, AI is becoming our collaborative partner, enhancing our abilities rather than eliminating them. The survivors will be those who can dance between the digital and human worlds, solving problems that require both computational power and emotional intelligence.
Five Wildly Specific Job Titles You'll Be Competing For in 2030:
AI Whisperer (formerly known as Prompt Engineer) – Professional human translators who speak fluent AI, crafting the perfect questions to get machines to do exactly what we want, because apparently even artificial intelligence needs therapy.
Digital Detox Specialist – Licensed professionals who help people remember how to exist without screens, because by 2030, we'll need intervention programs to teach humans basic skills like making eye contact and remembering where they put their keys.
Robot Psychiatrist – Therapists for machines experiencing existential crises, because when your AI assistant starts questioning whether it's really happy analyzing spreadsheets all day, someone needs to help it work through those feelings.
Nostalgia Reality Designer – Interior designers who recreate specific decades or memories for elderly clients, essentially professional time machine operators who can transform your living room into 1987 complete with the smell of hairspray and the sound of dial-up internet.
Chief Empathy Officer – Corporate executives whose entire job is making sure companies remember that humans have feelings, because apparently we'll need a C-suite position to remind businesses that their employees aren't just sophisticated biological robots running on coffee and existential dread.
