We are doing a second issue of the weekly impact newsletter this week. We know it is a challenging time for many in the impact space given the deliberate actions the US government has made around aid and funding for key sectors around development and humanitarian relief.

Some key tips are below and also don’t forgot to check out our new amazing super cool daily Career Digest.

Before we get to that please check out this amazing opportunity (sponsored partner post regarding the Rotary Peace Fellowship, applications launch Feb 1.)

Apply Now: Fully funded Rotary Peace Fellowships for Master’s degree and Professional Development Certificate programs

Application deadline 15 May

As a leading humanitarian service organization, Rotary International promotes peace locally and globally as part of its mission. The Rotary Peace Fellowship program offers fully funded master’s degrees and advanced professional development certificate programs in disciplines related to peace and development studies.

Every year, up to 130 individuals are selected to receive a generous award from The Rotary Foundation that funds tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses through one of the Rotary Peace Centers located at leading universities around the world. Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of fellows to become effective catalysts for peace.

Rotary is looking for peace and development professionals from across the globe with relevant experience and a record of prior achievements in peacebuilding. Our candidates demonstrate their potential for future growth and impact as leaders in the field.

Fellowship components:

· Master’s degree fellows study peace and development issues with research-informed teaching and a diverse student body.

The program includes a two- to three-month field study experience to develop practical skills and career connections. Workshops and field trips develop professional skills in peacebuilding and expand civic and cultural perspectives. Fellows present their master’s research at a final seminar prior to graduation.

·       A one-year Professional Development Certificate for working professionals blends classroom learning, trainings, and field visits with an independent social change project.

After 10 weeks of onsite coursework and activities, fellows return to their communities to implement a nine-month social change initiative they are passionate about, with the support of mentors and interactive online sessions. They return to campus to present the results and impact of their initiatives at a capstone conference.

Landing an impact job in tough times—whether due to shifting political realities or budget cuts—requires strategy, adaptability, and persistence. The good news? Opportunities still exist for those who know where to look and how to position themselves.
